Von Riesig is proud to present SRG. Brodie CGC, SAR

Brodie is a son to:
Sire:Colossal K9's Roman Knight "Elway"
Dam:Colossal K9's Goddess Diana "Mrs. Furs"

Brodie is working with S&R with his Military owner/handler SSG Boettcher in Wisconsin.
Brodie completed his CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Test in May/06.

At 12 months old he can cover ground almost as fast as a 2 year German Shepherd.

A Quote from his owner:
“Brodie is doing well we are working about 2-3 days a month with SAR he is doing well and should within another year
prove he can keep up with the German Shepherd's. Some of the team members thought it may be harder for him thinking
he couldn't smell as well as the German Shepherd's, but if he can't smell as well he makes up for it in intelligence.
Brodie constantly finds the scent cards that are hanging above the dogs head before the others they just circle and stray
Brodie runs up to the tree looks up and lets me know he's found the prize. I also think his sight is a little better than the
Shepherd's as well, but I suppose I could be a little bias.”

"Brodie is doing well he is getting to be quite the jumper although he isn't quite as graceful as the Shepherds yet he can sure
jump. I'm not having him work too heavily in that department of his agility until he gets a little older,
but it's a lot of fun so we do it now and then. He can jump over a bar at 2' and I think with a little coaxing
he could go up another foot easily. We also hang bags with treats in them in trees to help them out work out their
back legs for jumping and last weekend Brodie pulled one down that was well over 7ft in a tree and only the other male
Shepherd can get up that high. The other two Shepherds are females so they are smaller and I don't think the Bloodhound
would jump if you hung a steak in the tree."

"I went to a seminar where they were showing off Police GS's and one of them jumped clear over a car to catch a guy in a
bite suit. I mentioned that I had a Rot that was only 14 months old that I was working SAR with and he could pull
a scent card out of a tree over 7 feet in the air, the officer said, "no way" so, I set up this little test in my back
yard. Brodie had it on his second attempt."
