Ecology and Management of the Mourning Dove

Origin: North, Central, and South America

Size: 10 ½ to 13 inches

Life Span:

Temperament: They for the most part don’t enjoy being handled but like to be talked to.

Diet: a good seed mixture, insects, and fruits.

Breeding: Males choose the nest site and help in nest building. Hens lay 2 eggs, incubate for 2 weeks, and fledge after 12 to 14 days. 2 to 3 clutches are raised in a year on average.
