Scientific Name: Steptopellia risoria

Origin: United Kingdom

Size:

Life Span: 15 to 25+ years

Temperament: Ringneck Doves are easily cared for and are loving. They are not known to bite and they love to coo. You would think a coo wouldn’t be loud until your dove decides to start cooing in the middle of the night (in pitch black darkness) so I wouldn’t suggest keeping them in the same room you sleep.

About: They are a commonly kept dove breed. They have been kept domestically for over 1,000 years.

Diet: a good parakeet seed mix, along with crumbled corn bread as a treat and other foods that are easy for them to peck and eat.

Breeding: breeding as early as 6 months of age, incubating lasts 10 to 14 days, chicks fledge at 1 to 2 months.
